A rant on hate

I was triggered by a post on Facebook that read: Regarding the mosque near ground zero, I say let them build it. But across the street, we should put a topless bar, called “You Mecca Me Hot”. Next to that, a gay bar called “The Turban Cowboy” next to that, a pork-rib restaurant called “Iraq o’ Ribs”, and a check cashing center called ………”Iran out of money” Lets see who’s really tolerant…! Repost if you agree.

I am so incredibly sick and tired of people being so ignorant and hateful towards people of other religions, races, and cultures.  Why are you so scared?  What the hell did these people, and I mean the entire Muslim community, ever do to you?  And if you say 9/11, check yoself before you wreck yoself.  Yeah I said that.  Educate yourselves people, before throwing out your garbage fucking opinions into this world.  The Muslim community did not attack our country.  Those were terrorists.  Do you know what terrorists are?

ter·ror·ist

1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.

2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

Did you know that a white man can be a terrorist too?  Remember Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nicholls?  Remember what they did?  They blew up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and killed 186 people including 19 children.  So, when you see someone who is/might be Muslim, or of Middle Eastern descent, don’t you fucking dare assume that they are terrorists.  All these people are asking for is a place to worship.  I don’t go down the street to the church and say, “I’m not a christian, and I don’t want your church in my neighborhood”.  You know why?  Because even though I may not have the same beliefs as they do, I  know that they’re not there to harm anyone.

Be kind to each other.  There’s enough stupidity and hatred in this world already and we need to change that.

And now a serene image to end on a happy note:

  1. Here here, sister! Facebook can be so infuriating…especially when you’re friends with family members. Idiocy is rampant in my family as well. Oy.
